What is Soap?
The saponification of oils, vegetable or animal base, and the chemical reaction between them and the alkali (lye). The chemical reaction creates triglycerides to produce glycerol and a fatty acid salt, which we call soap. The History of Soap The first soap recipe ever recorded was written on Babylonian clay tablet around 2200 BC. Today we brew, pour, cut and cure our men's grooming products in a nineteenth century factory building, the Sprinkler Factory in Worcester, Massachusetts, which reminds us of the importance of good old-fashioned craft and quality. This nineteenth century factory building has seen sprinklers being produced for WW ll Submarines; and now, it hosts really amazing artists and small businesses like us.
