Aftershave
Aftershave as its name implies comes after the shave. Some people don’t understand what it really does. Is it another marketing product to get people to buy? Or does Aftershave really makes a difference on your face.

The History of Aftershave
Aftershave has been around for a long time. Some considere aftershave to date back to Roman times. Roman Barbershops used to spread man’s faces with spider's web soaked in vinegar and olive oil. But it was not until the 18th century that the barbershop was established as a trade. During this time, aftershave was already part of men’s routine at the barbershop. And it became available to every man.

Why is aftershave important?
Aftershave is meant to close pores after shaving and heal the skin after the shave. This allows for the skin to be ready between shaves, making the skin protected from infection, but also closing pores to prevent pimples in the skin. Some aftershaves also include antibacterial ingredients to prevent infections on the open pores. Also, some use plant base ingredients for moisturization. Ideally, the aftershave combines some all of these features in one, without the need to use multiple products.
